How to use a travel eSIM

The travel eSIM is for use when roaming outside of Europe. It keeps you connected with mobile data available in over 100 countries globally!

Note: to use a travel eSIM, you must already have an eSIM installed, this is so the app knows your device is eSIM compatible.

To install your travel eSIM follow these instructions:

  1. Log in and go to the Manage section

  2. You will see your current plans in the carousel at the top of the page

  3. Scroll across to the right side, you'll see an option to "Get a travel eSIM"

    1. Note, if you already have a travel eSIM installed, you can just scroll to that in the carousel and press the button "Add another country"

  4. Follow the instructions, selecting the country you want to roam in and the amount of data and days it is valid for

  5. Complete the payment

  6. Your eSIM will now be generated and a QR code displayed to install it

    1. You can email the QR code to any email address if you want to share it with a friend, or email yourself as a copy

    2. If you are on an Android device you can save the QR image and install the eSIM by doing the following:

      1. Go to Settings on your device

      2. Tap on Network & Internet.

      3. Tap the Add or + icon next to Mobile Network / this can sometimes be found in the SIMs menu

      4. Tap Set up an eSIM

      5. If you are using the same device, you can press Scan from photo, alternatively if you can scan the QR

      6. Follow the system instructions to complete the installation

      7. Once installed, turn on the SIM when you are in the country you selected and enable Data Roaming

    3. If you are on an iPhone you can follow these instructions:

      1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.

      1. Tap Cellular (or Mobile Data in some regions).

      2. Tap Add Cellular Plan or Add eSIM.

      3. If using the same device, select Use QR Code and choose Photos to scan the saved QR code image. Alternatively, you can scan the QR code directly with the camera.

      4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the eSIM installation.

      5. Once installed, enable the eSIM when in the selected country and turn on Data Roaming if required.
